I can't tell you how excited I am that Chanukah (or Hanukkah to some people!) is here. Why, you ask? 
It's all about the food. I mean, seriously. What is more yummy than latkes with sour cream and apple sauce? This dairy latke recipe is fantastic. What makes it even better? When my husband makes it for us all!
You may not know that while latkes (potato pancakes) are traditional Chanukah fare here in the U.S., our Israeli counterparts eat jelly donuts. Really!
So here at our house, we've started a new tradition that works really well for me. Latkes WITH the meal and donuts AFTER the meal.
Chanukah is about having strength and courage in the face of adversity. We light candles every day for 8 days to show that the light keeps shining. Read more here at Wikipedia if you're interested. And eat your latkes and donuts!
