We Rock!

December 16, 2008
gracepotter_nocturnals.jpgOkay, we don't literally rock (as in rock 'n' roll, anyway), but we dig some people who do!

Vermont native Grace Potter and her band, The Nocturnals, are touring the country with Cabot's support, bringing good ol' American rock 'n' roll to the masses. If you like meaningful songwriting and great musicianship coupled with the smoky twang of Potter's vocals (think Lucinda Williams) then you'll probably love Grace Potter as much as we do.

We were so tickled to discover that in the midst of her hectic schedule, Grace found time to give an interlude of Cabot Cheese love!

Cheesy, maybe, but the gal genuinely loves her cheddar! A fan website, This is Somewhere, has the scoop and clip of a live recording of the plug and a song!

Have a gander at Grace's website or her MySpace page to see (and hear) why we're so proud to sponsor Grace as she tours around the country.

Hey kind Cabot readers. You can hear Grace talking about Cabot Cheese here:

As I wrote on This Is Somewhere

How much is Cabot kicking in for the tour bus? Not nearly enough I?d say. Tell me the last time you heard 1,200 people wildly cheer for a cheese company? I suppose I?m highlighting this because, while being a commercial plug, it reflects the pure honesty of the band. Grace. Likes. Cabot Cheese. It?s simple. When I ran into her before the show at the cheese table she shared her favorite grilled cheese recipe and guided me through a tasting. No, I am not making this up.

This is a live recording from the show in New York City and to hear a jaded NYC crowd cheer for cheese - well - it means something.

Thanks for sharing more info on this show. We were so tickled to hear Grace's song; thanks for drawing attention to it!

Best,
Jen

Just to be clear, "Stop The Bus" is an older song written before the partnership. Grace's speech was ad hoc.

For the record, Grace likes a combination of very sharp regular cheddar plus the horseradish on her grilled cheese.

Thanks so much! I fixed the wording a bit. :)

As a side note, any woman who loves horseradish as much as I is pretty dang cool.
