Cows love the cold, but the rest of us have to bundle up!
These winterized farmers are members of the Thurber family - one of the many farmer families that are part of our Cabot Co-Op. Pictured are Ross, Isabella and Willem Thurber with their calf, Gabrielle.
The Thurbers founded Lilac Ridge Farm in Brattleboro, Vermont in 1937. Since then, their 6-cow farm has grown considerably; they milk a herd of fifty mixed registered Brown Swiss and Holsteins, and have a sugaring operation to boot. About two thousand taps ensure that late February through early March is a very busy season.
Do you have a Cabot-related photo? A snapshot of snacking? A scenic view of our creamery? Send us your pictures! You could see your photographic handiwork on an upcoming "Say Cheese!"

I THINK THAT IT IS GREAT TO KNOW YOU ARE HELPING THE FARMERS WHILE GIVING OUR FAMILY A GOOD CHEESE.
